Cogir Immobilier

Founded in 1995 by the Duguay family and operated by Mathieu Duguay since 2004, Cogir Immobilier ("COGIR") is a Montreal-based Quebec company that initially operated in the property management sector (seniors' residences, multi-unit rental housing, commercial), before moving into the construction, development and investment sectors. 2013 saw the start of a partnership with the Welltower Group, a world leader in health and well-being real estate and a member of the S&P 500.

Since its founding more than 20 years ago, the COGIR group has demonstrated remarkable growth and continues to aim for increased and sustainable development throughout Canada. Batipart, in partnership with the Crédit Mutuel group, has been supporting this development since 2015 by acquiring a stake of around 40% in the capital of Cogir Immobilier.

In 2016, construction began on the project that symbolises this collaboration: the Humaniti Montreal tower. As the first-ever advanced vertical community, Humaniti is a bold, distinctive architectural concept that includes condominiums, rental apartments, a hotel, an office building and commercial spaces. The tower's first residents were welcomed in 2020.

In the same year, COGIR formalised the establishment of its US division with the creation of a US-based management team.

Throughout this time, Batipart has invested in several projects alongside Cogir in Canada and the United States.
