Created in 1995 by Mr Serge G. Duguay, Cogir Immobilier is a Quebec company located in Montreal that initially operated in the real-estate management sector (commercial and multi-residential). Since 2004, Mathieu Duguay has taken over the management of this family company by expanding the company’s historical activity into the sectors of private residences for the elderly, the development and construction of programmes and the acquisition of interests in clients’ programmes.
With more than 3,500 employees, the company is currently one of the 100 largest companies in Quebec.
Cogir Immobilier operates in the sectors of property management, asset management, investment, development and construction. Its assets under management represent a value of approximately CAD 4.2 billions, more than a third of which is in direct co-investment between Cogir Immobilier and its clients. The company manages more than 700,000 m² of commercial, industrial and office properties and nearly 19,750 residential units divided between multi-tenant buildings and residences for the elderly.
Since its foundation more than 20 years ago, the company has grown remarkably. Already well established in the provinces of Quebec, Ontario and Nova Scotia, Cogir Immobilier’s objective is to increase its geographical presence throughout Canada and the north-eastern United States within the next two years.
In order to support this ambitious development, Batipart Immo International, in partnership with the Crédit Mutuel group, acquired a stake in Cogir Immobilier on 1 September 2015. This acquisition represents 33.33% of Cogir Immobilier’s share capital.
